Everyone in our family has been suffering from a gastrointestinal bug for the last week and a half. It got so bad recently that I inflated an air mattress in our living room so we wouldn't have to run up the stairs to empty Daphne's vomit pail at all hours of the night. Poor Shea had the most diarrhea and I had the most vomiting. For now, we feel better. Here are some new photos for your enjoyment:

Shea's walking has really improved over the last week. Daphne has completed two fun-filled weeks of school and is actually taking naps! Here are some new photos of Daphne & Shea:

Tuesday

August 7

Yesterday was Daphne's first day of school (pre-K) and she loved it!  Monday's focus was on the letter "I", the number "1", and she practiced writing her name.  Lots of playing, coloring, educational activities, and even a midday nap.  Jennie drops Daphne off before 8am and I pick her up a little before 5pm five days per week. Compared to the Mother's Day Out program she had been attending twice per week from 9am until 2 pm, this is a major adjustment.

Here is some brand new video of Shea walking!  Enjoy...

Until tomorrow,

Friday

July 27

Daphne loves strolling around the neighborhood after supper.  Not only is it good exercise, but it gives us a chance to have some valuable Daddy-daughter time and catch up with her thoughts & dreams.

"Daddy, why don't they have seat belts in Africa?" questioned Daphne on our first lap last night.

"Gee, why do you ask?" I replied.

"Mimi" (my mother-in-law, Jennie's Mom) "told me all about the town of Africa.  It's far away like California where Uncle Scott lives, but I don't want to go there.  Unless they have tractors."  I smiled while trying to hold back laughter.

"Tractors and back-hoes look like fun, " I said.

"Yeah, when can we buy one?  Maybe we can use one to build a giant swing set in our backyard?  You probably need directions, Daddy.  Can we just buy a swing set at Costco or Lowes?  You will need my help to build it -- I can help you put all the chains together and then I can hold the slide while you work on the stairs." Imagine an overly excited 4 year old talking a mile a minute and flailing her arms about as she speaks.

I thanked her for wanting to help.  "We'll see what we can do, " I promised.

"Hey Daddy?  I still want to go to a water park.  Can we go tomorrow?"  I told her that I had to work the next day, but I assured her we would go to Nashville Shores soon.

Although Daphne showers Shea with multiple hugs and kisses each night before bed, she's quick to point out how much she hates him.  Hehehe

She is still being sent to her room or time-out for taking Shea's toys or being rough with him several times per day.

Shea took about 6 or 7 steps in a row last night.  He should be walking VERY soon.  He claps and you can tell he is overcome with excitement everytime he takes a few steps on his own.  He's becoming a big boy!

Daphne has become more selective in her food choices, but Shea will eat anything AND everything you put in front of him!  He loves to eat and sometimes I think he eats more than Daphne at supper.

Daphne still weighs around 40 - 42 pounds and Shea is 18 1/2 pounds.

Until tomorrow,

Happy birthday to Shea!  Our big boy is now one year old as of July 9...

Monday

June 25

Daphne had all of her hair chopped off a few weeks ago and she absolutely loves her big girl haircut!  Shea still has 4 upper teeth and 2 bottom teeth a few weeks shy of his first birthday.  He's trying so hard to walk, but hasn't taken those magical first steps yet.  His crawling speed and ability to pull himself up from a sitting position has gotten drastically faster.  Here are some new photos:

Happy Memorial Day!

The kids are really keeping us busy as you probably guessed by my lack of blogging.
Here are some new photos for your enjoyment:

Princess Daphne

Daphne wanted to try out her new umbrella.

Watch me climb these stairs!

I'm a little devil like my sister.

Daphne loves to tell Shea what he needs to do.

I'm becoming very mobile.
